Highlights

Social Economy, the Future of Europe', European Social Economy Conference on 5 and 6 May in Strasbourg

On 5 and 6 May 2022, the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès in Strasbourg will host the Conference 'The Social Economy, the Future of Europe', the first major EU face-to-face event since the beginning of the pandemic and since the adoption, in December 2022, of the European Social Economy Action Plan. The event is expected to mobilise more than 1,000 people, including social economy actors, experts and representatives of European institutions and governments.

33rd CIRIEC International Congress - Valencia, 13-15 June 2022. Last days to register

The 33rd International Congress of the International Centre of Research and Information on the Public, Social and Cooperative Economy (CIRIEC) will be held in Valencia (Spain) on the 13th, 14th and 15th June 2022. The Congress will be held under the theme “New global dynamics in the post-Covid era: challenges for the public, social and cooperative economy”. Early bird rates are available until Friday, 6 May. After that, registration will be open until 6 June.

Spain: Great success for the 3rd University Week of the Social Economy: many participation and activites

The 3rd University Week of the Social Economy ended on 31 March, after ten days of a great intensity of events, with a total of 134 activities in 36 universities, in which more than 5,000 people participated. Once again, a great success for the ENUIES Network of CIRIEC-Spain, whose objective was to raise awareness of the intense university teaching and research activity on the sector of cooperatives, worker-owned companies, mutual societies, social enterprises and the third sector.

OECD has just published the manual ‘Designing Legal Frameworks for Social Enterprises’ This manual was produced by the OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities (CFE,) led by Lamia Kamal-Chaoui, Director. This Manual provides guidance to help policy makers assess the rationale and relevance for developing new or updating legal frameworks specific to social enterprises.

2nd CIRIEC-Mexico International Research Congress - Acapulco, 19 and 20 May

The Board of Directors of the Mexico Chapter of CIRIEC invites researchers and teachers focused on the study and teaching of the SSE, public officials, cooperativists and members of social enterprises and cooperatives, community movements, ejidos and agrarian nuclei and the general public to participate in the work of the Second International Research Congress of Ciriec-Mexico: "The social and solidarity economy in movement", which will take place on 19 and 20 May 2022, in the facilities of the Autonomous University of Guerrero, located in the city and port of Acapulco.
