Call for papers for the XIX Congress of Researchers in Social Economy of CIRIEC-Spain – Mataró (Barcelona), April 2023

CIRIEC-Spain is launching a call for papers for the XIX Congress of Researchers in Social Economy, which will take place on 19-21 April 2023 at the Tecnocampus in Mataró (Barcelona). The general theme of the XIX Congress is “The role of the Social Economy in a scenario of crisis and uncertainty”.

As announced two years ago, Mataró will once again host the CIRIEC-Spain Researchers’ Congress, as the Congress held there in September 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, although it could be held, was affected by covid-19, with a lower than usual participation and programme. That is why CIRIEC-Spain, together with the Chair of Social Economy of the Tecnocampus, decided to repeat the congress in Mataró, as soon as the pandemic situation has subsided, and after the CIRIEC International Congress held in Valencia in June this year.

The new Congress in Mataró will be structured in 9 general panels and 13 thematic workshops, which will bring together current scientific and practical debates on the social economy, including, and especially, its role in the current scenario of multiple crises and uncertainty.

All researchers are invited to submit their scientific, theoretical and empirical work in any of the many areas proposed. It is also planned to present pedagogical works in a specific workshop, where innovations in the teaching of cooperativism and social economy subjects will preferably be presented.

As in previous editions, two prizes will be awarded during the Congress, to the two best papers presented by young researchers, doctoral and non-doctoral, under 35 years of age; and to the two best doctoral theses defended in the last five years and up to 31 December 2022.

Proposals for papers will be accepted until 14 December, and must be 2 pages in length, including bibliography. Full text papers must be submitted by 28 February 2023, and should be between 15 and 25 pages in length, including abstract, 4 to 8 keywords and bibliography.

Both abstracts and full papers will be evaluated by the scientific committee of the XIX Congress, advised by an Evaluation Committee. During the second half of December authors will receive notification of acceptance or rejection of their paper proposal.

Abstracts and Communications should be sent to the Secretariat of the XIX Congress by e-mail: ciriec@uv.es, indicating in Subject: XIX CONGRESO CIRIEC – RESUMEN/COMUNIC. – Workshop – Surname, First Name – Example: XIX CONGRESO CIRIEC – RESUMEN – T4 – Garrido Velázquez, María.

The XIX Congress has the collaboration of the Tecnocampus Chair of Social Economy, the Roca Galès Foundation, the Xarxa d’Economia Solidària (XES) and the Enuies Network, the Spanish Inter-University Network of Institutes and Research Centres in Social Economy.
