Chapingo Autonomous University (UACh) and the CIRIEC Mexico chapter have published the call for papers for the Sixth International Research Congress of CIRIEC Mexico, which will take place from 2 to 6 September 2026 at UACh. Under the slogan “Building community to transform our economy,” the Congress addresses the contribution of the “popular, social, solidarity, and communal economy in the defense, care, and management of common goods from urban, rural, Indigenous, and Afro-descendant communities.”
The meeting will continue previous editions held at the Autonomous University of Guerrero, the Benemérita Autonomous University of Puebla, the Autonomous University of Baja California, and the Metropolitan Autonomous University, consolidating itself as one of the main Latin American spaces for reflection and research on the popular, social, solidarity, and cooperative economy.
The call focuses on common goods as a central element for sustainable development, socio-environmental justice, and the construction of more democratic and participatory economic models.
The document also highlights key issues such as the collective management of water, territories, ancestral knowledge, popular culture, seeds, community care systems, and experiences of self-governance and collective organization.
