4th University Week of the Social Economy, by ENUIES Network, CIRIEC-Spain

After the success of the first editions, with the participation of 30 universities and more than 5,000 people in 200 activities, the ENUIES Network, of CIRIEC-Spain, is once again calling on the Centres, Institutes, Chairs and other Social Economy research structures in Spain and Latin America to celebrate the 4th University Week of the Social Economy, which will take place from 20 to 30 March 2023. There will therefore be ten days, like last year, which will allow a better distribution and spacing of the activities.

CIRIEC invites the different research structures to organise one or more activities related to the Social Economy and its families, in online or face-to-face format, each one from their own centre, faculty or university, on one of the proposed days, and thus jointly complete a broad agenda of events to make the Social Economy visible from the university environment.

The last day, Thursday 30 March, will be reserved for a joint activity of the ENUIES Network, CIRIEC and the Spanish Association of Accounting and Business Administration (AECA).

The 4th University Week will also be held within the framework of what has come to be known as the ‘Social Economy Momentum’. In May and June, the ILO and the OECD published recommendations on the social economy, and the UN is working on a resolution on the social economy and the SDGs, which is expected to be published soon. In Spain, the Social Economy and Care PERTE is still in process, with more than 800 million euros pending implementation.

The organisation encourages social economy agents to take part in the activities.

Each university centre can organise the activities according to its objectives, resources and availability. Conferences, round tables, exhibitions, presentations of books or the results of research projects, workshops or specific training, among others, can be organised. In short, the aim is to bring the Social Economy to the University and vice versa, to show what is being done at the University for the Social Economy. To this end, the ENUIES Network wants to involve all the agents of the social economy in #SemanaUniversitariaES.

All participants in the University Week will receive a certificate of participation. For this reason, the organisers are also requested to fill in the appropriate form for the activities planned in each centre.

All research structures are encouraged to participate in the University Week of the Social Economy 2023 by submitting their proposals until 28 February, using the following form. Entities representing the sector are also encouraged to collaborate in the University Week by participating in the activities and disseminating them through their partners, networks and media.
