The first World Social Economy Law has finally been approved by the United Nations

"For their common mission to provide effective responses to major global problems, such as inequality and the climate crisis, and for their governmental mission to solve the economic and social problems of their territories and their citizens, especially the most vulnerable, all the countries of the planet have, since last April, a first-rate regulatory reference that legitimises and gives concrete form to a new public policy, the social economy policy."

The social economy sector welcomes the UN Resolution for the promotion of the social economy
The social economy sector, represented in Europe by Social Economy Europe (SEE), has expressed its "great satisfaction" with the adoption of the resolution 'Promoting the social and solidarity economy for sustainable development' by the UN General Assembly. For the president of SEE, Juan Antonio Pedreño, this resolution "is an important milestone for the social economy, as it places it at the centre of the international scene, reinforcing once again its importance in providing economic solutions with a positive impact on societies".

CIRIEC-Mexico and CIDE presented the case study of the Social Economy Satellite Account of Mexico
On 24 April, the presentation of the Case Study on the Social Economy of Mexico, 2013 and 2018 took place in the framework of the Travelling Seminar 'Satellite Account of the Social and Solidarity Economy in Ibero-America', co-organised by the Centro de Investigación de DocenciaS Económicas (CIDE) and CIRIEC-Mexico. The event was attended by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) and the National Institute of Social Economy (INAES), as well as representatives of CIRIEC-Colombia, CIRIEC-Brazil, CIRIEC-Costa Rica and CIRIEC-Spain.
